• You may place a down payment on an available baby or on a future litter. Down payments are non-refundable. The balance is due at pickup by cash or venmo. Card payments are accepted with a 4% service fee. I do not accept checks, cashier's checks, or money orders for balance at pickup. However, if you would like to pay by check or money order for a down payment only, and it is at least 10 days prior to the pickup date, please email me to make arrangements.

• If you do place a deposit on a baby and decide you want a baby from a different litter, I will allow 1 deposit switch as long as it is at least 14 days before the go home "ready" date. 

• If you have made a down payment and decide that you cannot get the baby at that time, I will hold your deposit for 6 months if you notify me at LEAST 14 days PRIOR to the go home "ready" date. 

• Failure to answer emails about picking up and no-shows to appointments automatically forfeit their down payments.

Your hedgehog will go home with a small fleece blanket in a cardboard carrier with a small bag of the food he/she is currently on. This food should be mixed half and half with what you are going to be using to feed until the sample is gone. Larger bags of our food mix is available for $15 and can be purchased from our web site and shipped if you choose to continue to use it.

• A non-refundable down payment is required to reserve a hedgehog or be placed on our future baby waiting list. Down payments go towards the total purchase price and the remaining balance is due prior, or at pickup.
• Babies cannot be reserved without a down payment. 
• Once a down payment is made, a confirmation email will be sent (usually within 24 hours). In that email you will find important information on care and a link to schedule your pickup appointment.
• You will be required to fill out a basic questionnaire about how you will care for your hedgehog when you book your pickup appointment.
• You will need to fill out an adoption/no breeding contract.
• The balance is required to be paid before or at the time of pick up. Hedgehogs will not be released without payment in full.
• At pick up I accept cash payments, venmo, debit or credit cards (4% service fee applies) and payments through PayPal (4% service fee applies). No checks or money orders are accepted.
• The posted date of when a baby can go home in approximate. It can change to be either earlier or later, depending on a variety of factors used to determine if a baby is old enough to wean from it's mother. After being weaned the baby is monitored and must be drinking and eating well on it's own before I will allow it to leave to a new home. Any changes in date will be sent via email.
• Pick up must be scheduled by two weeks after the "ready to go home" date (see details below).
• All animals sold by SECT Exotics are sold as pet only. I do not sell to breeders and I do not offer wholesale or discounted pricing.
• I do not sell opposite sexes to anyone, including you and your friend, brother, sister, roommate, etc. 
• Color is not guaranteed.
• I offer a limited health warranty / lifetime WHS warranty (see details below).
• Southeastern Connecticut Exotics reserves the right to refuse to sell to anyone at anytime for any reason, even after a down payment has been made.
• I do not sell hedgehogs to illegal states and counties.

Southeastern Connecticut Exotics guarantees that any hedgehog adopted from us is, to the best of our knowledge, free of disease.

The Buyer agrees to have a wellness exam done by a licensed veterinarian within the first 30 days of bringing the hedgehog home in order to activate the Health Guarantee set forth in the adoption contract.

• There is a 3 month congenital Health Guarantee on the hedgehog.

• There is a lifetime Health Guarantee against WHS on the hedgehog.

• S.E.C.T. Exotics will take back a hedgehog at any time, but a refund will not be given. There are no refunds on cage setups or cage accessories.

• If at any time you decide a hedgehog is not the right pet for you or circumstances change, the hedgehog must be returned to us at buyers expense/time. I do make exceptions - if you have already found a wonderful home, for example. Contact me before you rehome your hedgie, so I can update my records.

• I won't turn down any hedgehog for any reason. If you have a hedgehog that is in need of a home, please contact me.
